Our Gateway ladies had such a wonderful time getting together in February and it’s time to put our March gathering on your calendar. It will be on Thurs., March 25 from 6-8:30pm at the home of Catheryn Collins, 116 Arrowhead Dr. Plan on being there and inviting a friend. These gatherings are a great way to connect with other ladies and make new friends.

Titus 2 "Get-Acquainted" Fellowship, 6:30pm, Thursday, July 23

All ladies are invited to come out for an evening of games, fellowship, food, etc. and help us welcome new ladies coming into our community and church. Please feel free to invite your friends and neighbors. The gathering will take place at the home of Shannon Morris, 118 Arrowhead Drive.

Are you one of those ladies who just “think” about getting organized “one day?” Does keeping up with schedules, housework, grocery shopping, mail, papers, etc. leave you saying, “Just forget it!” Well, we have planned two great workshops to get you started. One will be on “Turning Your Piles into Files” and the other will be “Me, Get Organized?” We know that God is a God of order for a reason and over the next three months, we will be looking at ways to help us all follow His example. Come out for a night of fun and useful information. Bring your own time-saving/organizational tips to share and invite a friend. Sandwiches and chips will be served. Visit to Gateway from Around the World

We had a very special treat recently at Gateway. We were blessed to have Helena from India visit us and Brian and Leenah Finnan visiting with us as well. These special brothers and sisters in Christ enjoyed dessert and coffee with those in our body on Saturday, May 17th at the home of Tom and Jan Kotouc. On Sunday, they shared in church and visited with several Gateway families Sunday night at the Cross Falcione Life Group. Monday night they enjoyed a combined dinner at the Montgomery House of Prayer. Tuesday they shared at a ladies luncheon and shared at the Wednesday night Bible Study at Gateway. Many were impacted by their visit and renewed by stories of how God is working around the world. Here's what Carmen Falcione had to say about Helena's visit. "We had a dinner at the Montgomery House of Prayer and Worship attended by interdenominational and interracial pastors, lay leaders and businessmen of the Montgomery community. This was a combined dinner of The Gathering, Isaiah's Legacy and Community Development Initiatives at The Montgomery House of Prayer and Worship prepared by our very own Catheryn Collins. We had a wonderful dialog between local people and missionary Helena Sing, Brian and Leenah Finnan. The missionaries spoke and presented a slide and powerpoint by Helena with Brian and Leenah regarding the mission, vision and purposes of the indian Childrens' Home, medical needs, residences and daycares - six different facilities under her care that she is overseeing in India.

There was a Q & A where many people gave comments, feedback regarding the overall inforfrmation and need for these children in India (i.e. clothing, health, food and education). Pastor Alan handed out packets of project needs through this ministry of India. There was a wonderful response of the people that attended. Some of the other pastors, especially the African American pastors, felt compelled to go on a trip to India in the future and minister to those that are oppressed there, in particular to those in slavery there."

"Helena stayed with us most of the time (Carmen and Elaine). We enjoyed fellowshipping with her and being able to bless her and show her around Montgomery. Helena really enjoyed it  and we got to know her so much better than we did before. Helena also shared with the John 17 Pastors Group on Wednesday, prayed with pastors and lay leaders and shared a meal prepared by our very own Elaine Falcione. Helena really made an impact on the Montgomery Community. Her visit here gave face and life to all our previous and future trips."

Ladies Titus 2: Big Bunko Hit!

The Ladies Titus 2 Gathering was held at the home of Donna Spivey, Thursday, February 21, 2008 with some good old-fashioned Bunko! There were many people there having a blast!!

"I enjoyed the Bunko night.  I came in late because I had to work
but had a great time.  The fellowship is the best and if you have played bunko it is a lot of fun. Rachael Oats Snyder and Mona Lisa Harding, some good friends that I haven't seen in a while, were both there it was fun getting to see them." - Terri Dunson

"It was a real treat to learn to play Bunko.  It was a fast paced game but I was able to keep up.  I really enjoyed the fellowship with the ladies at Titus 2.  But what blessed me the most is how the ladies came together to pray for Caelan." - Sherry Slagle

Women's Bible Study

Women’s Bible Study

The Women’s Bible Study is off to a great start. “The Bible study on Tuesday nights is an answer to prayer,” says Catherine Collins. “Having tried Kay Author Bible Studies before and not having had much success by myself, it is a blessing to have others to go through the study with me. Having someone like Susan to answer my questions and teach me principles of God’s word is great. She and I have committed to memorizing the entire book of Philippians. It is great having her to challenge me. Every morning, I get on the treadmill and learn God’s word while I walk. Time goes by so fast and I am learning so much at the ladies Bible study.”

The Women's Bible Study, led by Susan Palomino, is on Tuesday nights at Gateway Baptist Church from 6:15-8:30 pm. Childcare is available. Please call the church office for more information.

Titus 2 Gathering

    Ladies “Titus 2” Gathering for April

On Thursday, April 12 from 6-8:30pm the Ladies Gathering will be held at the home of Jan Kotouc. We will be having an in-home, progressive meal with lots of great food and interesting conversation. This will be a night full of fun, fellowship and edification. At theses monthly meetings we seek to follow the Biblical model of older women teaching younger women. Through these gatherings we are able to build lasting relationships that challenge and encourage women to grow in their spiritual walk. We hope you can join us! Abiding in Christ Ladies Study Wk 3 & 4

For those of you following the Ladies' bible study on Andrew Murray's Abiding in Christ please forgive me for the delay in getting this post up.  Last week our discussion around chapters 4 and 5 focused on the joy and simplicity of Christ's plea for us to just "be a branch" and let him do the rest.  We marveled at how he gives himself fully to us and contemplated his invitation for us to give ourselves fully to him.  Catherine challenged us by noting that the Greek word translated "prowls around" in 1 Peter 5:8 is the same word translated "continue to live" in Col. 2:6-7.  The definition of that Greek word is "to conduct one's life" and although it sounds passive when we are told to continue to live in Christ in the same way we first received him, we can see that it is NOT passive as it speaks of the way Satan prowls around.  He is very intentional and focused.  Am I "conducting my life" as a branch?  Am I as intentional and focused as I continue to live in Christ and draw from Him as Satan is when he stalks us?  Do I have the same faith it took to overcome unbelief when I first received him as Savior, or does abiding in Him seem somehow beyond my reach?  How about you?  Share your thoughts on these chapters.  The questions for week 3 on Chapters 4 and 5, as well as, the questions for week 4 on Chapters 5 and 6 are available on this link Download abiding_weeks_3_and_4_study_questions.doc   

Ladies Learn to Abide in Christ

You are invited to be part of a new Ladies Bible Study on Friday mornings from 10:00 - 11:30 am.  We will be reading and discussing Andrew Murray's classic Abiding in Christ to glean insight from God's word and begin to experience this abiding in our own lives.  For those of you who are interested in going through this book, but cannot attend the study on Friday mornings, we would also like to offer an online opportunity to be part of the group.
